Viv’s Workshops

Vivien has developed a series of themed, seasonal workshops, celebrating popular varieties of fruit. Preserving and cookery days for groups of novices and artisans are held at Vivien’s home near Midsomer Norton in Somerset. They include a two-course lunch. Luxury, overnight accommodation can be booked at The Old Vicarage in Kilmersdon.

Sensational Sevilles – Winter Workshop – January and February

Spend a day with Seville oranges – the king of citrus fruits. Seville oranges have a short season, from late December to the end of February. Learn how to make Vivien’s award-winning marmalade, a curd, ice-cream and marmalade tealoaf.

Black and Red Currants – Summer Workshop – July

Early soft, summer fruits -black and red currants are pectin rich fruits, perfect for making sweet preserves. Learn how to make jam from black currants, jelly from red currants, a liqueur and a dessert.

Damson Day – Autumn Workshop – September and October

With its unique flavour, the humble damson is the fruit to choose for all types of preserves. Learn how to make a jam, a chutney, a cheese and a dessert.
